Mazda has a bonafide hit on their hands with the Mazda6 Grand Touring sedan!
I unexpectedly became a super fan of Mazda last year when I reviewed two of their vehicles for my travel blog www.Passenger156.com. When they delivered the Mazda6 Grand Touring (G.T.) I did a double take because it was a strikingly gorgeous car (#IMO).
I also reviewed the Mazda CX-5 SUV but it was the Mazda6 G.T. that stuck in my mind like a man I had a crush on (lol). I just couldn’t stop thinking about this car. When my car (at that time) started acting up, I took it as a sign to trade up! Really I didn’t need an excuse but it sounded good (lol).
I wanted the Snowflake White Pearl one that I test drove but they wouldn’t let me buy it (kicks rocks lol). So I went to my local Mazda dealership and found my perfect Mazda6 G. T. My color is called ‘Soul Red’ and its Mazda’s signature brand color. I’m so glad I listened to my brother and bought one in ‘Soul Red.’
The body styling alone will make you like this sporty sedan. The performance and interior design will make you LOVE it!
Here are the features that made me fall in LOVE with the Mazda6 Grand Touring…
The Active Drive Display:
I had never personally experienced a heads-up or active drive display before driving the Mazda6. At first I didn’t like it, but grew to love it as it truly helps keep your eyes on the road in a subtle but needed way. It displays your speed and turn-by-turn navigation instructions.
The 3-D Realistic Navigation:
I’m a little slow sometimes (lol). Most navigation systems confuse me with their images to the point where I’m not sure if I’m taking the right exit. Mazda solved that issue with their fabulous, 3-D/realistic navigation images. The nav images perfectly mirror the road/highway you’re driving on and definitively mark what lane/exit you’re supposed to take. #LovesIt
The Performance & Fuel Efficiency:
The ‘G.T.’ is the sport version so it has some get up and go normally and a little more when you engage the ‘sport’ button (wink wink). It also has the paddle shifters behind the steering wheel just like a Ferrari. I’ll be honest I haven’t used them to go faster because they intimidate me (lol).
You’d think that a sporty sedan like the Mazda6 G.T. would be terrible on gas because it’s the sport model that delivers 184 hp. Wrong! I can fill up (on average $26-$30) and drive upto 500 miles on a single tank because it’s a 4-cylinder! That's the secret to the performance of the Mazda6 G.T., it's a 4-cylinder turbo. The estimated annual fuel costs are $1400 (not a typo) for the Mazda6 G.T. I get 28 city and 40 highway miles per gallon (mpg). #Awesome Zoom-Zoom
I really, really like my car (the heated nappa leather seats don’t hurt lol). When it’s freshly detailed, it looks fabulous and makes me look fabulous (lol). It’s cool & sporty enough to drive to work everyday and sleek & sexy enough to drive to any VIP event. My Mazda6 G.T. is a 2016 but the 2017 is basically the same with minor changes to the design of the steering wheel.
