Mercedes Benz and Tesla Issue Recalls Affecting Popular Models!
No one likes to receive a recall notice or learn about a major recall via the news, but they are a part of owning cars today. Two popular auto manufacturers recently announced recalls that affect popular car models. Let’s start with the Mercedes Benz recall.
Mercedes Benz announced a recall that affects 24 of the brands models and a reported 495,290 vehicles. Here’s what you need to know…
The Recall Problem:
The driver’s airbag may unexpectedly deploy due to insufficient grounding of the steering components if an electrostatic discharge occurs and the airbag clock spring is broken.

2015 – 2018 E550
2015 – 2018 GLA250
2016 – 2018 GLC300
2017 – 2018 GLC 43 AMG

Dealers will add sufficient grounding to the steering components FREE of charge. Mercedes Benz will begin notifying owners in December. Owners can call Mercedes Benz customer service at 1-877-496-3691.
Tesla maybe a new auto maker but they’re not immune to the world of recalls and have issued a recall for their popular Tesla Model X SUV.
The Recall Issue:
The left side, second row, reclining seat back may not fully latch due to having incorrectly adjusted recliner mechanism cables. If the seat back moves forward in a crash, this seriously increases the risk of injury. Click this link to read the NHTSA recall docs.
2016 – 2017 Model X vehicles
Tesla service technicians will correct the cable adjustment for the left side, fold flat, second row, seat recliner mechanism FREE of charge.
