Major Recall News from Mercedes Benz!

In today’s auto news, Mercedes Benz has announced a major recall affecting 79 popular models from the luxury auto brand. Combined, the recalls affect 744,852 vehicles!

The Problem:

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2001-2011 vehicles. The bonding between the glass panel and the sliding roof frame may deteriorate, possibly resulting in the glass panel detaching from the vehicle. A detached glass panel can detach from the vehicle and become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

Models Affected:

There’s a total of 79 models affected by this recall including CLK 320 (2003-2005), CLK350 (2006-2009), C230 (2003-2007), C240 (2001-2005) and E320 (2003-2009). The Fix:

MBUSA will notify owners, dealers will then inspect the glass panel bonding and replace the sliding roof if deemed necessary. All repairs are FREE of charge. MBUSA will begin the recall on February 14, 2020. Owners can contact MBUSA by calling 1-800-367-6372 with any questions or concerns.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or go to www.safercar.gov.

Be Safe!
